Often called a preview of the Edmonton Fringe Festival, Athabasca's fringe event sees 25 acts from across the globe in over 60 performances. The event begins with a summer celebration on Friday which includes a free breakfast in the morning and free performances in the evening.
There will be no Fringe Festival in 2008.

Athabasca's Billy Loutit Triathlon consists of a Kids of Steel race on Saturday that sees children aged 5 to 15 in varying age groups participate in a fun race meant to introduce them to the sport of triathlon. On Sunday there is both a short and a long race for adults.
